On Sunday 10th November 2019, staff from Lady Lane Park School will be attempting to cycle 1000 km -the equivalent distance from Bingley to Berlin! As the staff have to be in School on Monday morning (not in Berlin!), this will take place at the Nuffield gym, Cottingley, in their cycle spinning studio. Needless to say, this is a BIG challenge as many of our team haven't cycled in a while and we are a small staff!
However, we are confident that we can complete this challenge in the 5 hours we have available and raise enough money to purchase a defibrillator for both the school and local community to benefit from. We are hoping to purchase the defibrillator and training from a small children’s charity called Hand on Heart. This will be sited on the outside wall of our school making it accessible to our school and local community if ever needed.
The charity are very passionate and determined to keep children safe and to prevent the deaths of 12 young people who die of sudden cardiac arrest each week in the UK. They have a very informative website https://www.handonheart.org/ if you would like more information. We have set up a ‘Just Giving’ page for any donations and messages of support; please share this with friends and family and help us achieve our target. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lady-lane-park-school-bingley2berlin
